Taking a cruise along it is one of the top things to do in town! Even better, have your cruise at night to see Budapest\u2019s attractions, like the Hungarian Parliament Building, lit up with golden lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something else you should do while in Budapest is visit one of the many thermal baths scattered around town. The Sz\u00e9chenyi Baths are the most popular. This is one of Europe\u2019s largest spa complexes, a perfect location to enjoy the soothing and warm waters with the cold January air swirling around you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Naples, Italy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Naples-1.jpg\" alt=\"Naples\" class=\"wp-image-73704\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Going to Southern Italy is always a great idea, winter included!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are looking for a destination with fantastic weather, mouthwatering food, and history-rich attractions, visit\u00a0Naples\u00a0in January.With almost no tourists, you can stroll around the city in total relaxation. You won\u2019t find lines for Naples\u2019 best restaurants and sights, like the unmissable Veiled Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are plenty of things you can do in Naples. My favorite activities are pizza-making classes, street food tours, and browsing the unique Nativity Scenes of San Gregorio Armeno Street.The cherry on top? Mount Vesuvius, capped with snow, towering in the distance \u2013 what a spectacle!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Riga, Latvia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Riga-1.jpg\" alt=\"Riga\" class=\"wp-image-73705\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Latvian capital is a great European city for a winter break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">January days will still be snowy, so you can have magical moments in town.\u00a0Riga\u00a0has a charming Old Town featuring Russian Orthodox architecture. The colorful buildings, sprinkled with snow, are a true spectacle!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two must-sees are Riga Cathedral, dating back to 1211, and the House of the Blackheads with its luxurious fa\u00e7ade. A former merchant gathering place, this glorious building today hosts cultural events and gala dinners. Barcelona offers stunning examples of the Modernist style, epitomized by the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia and the Casa Battl\u00f2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While in Barcelona, don\u2019t miss a stroll on Las Ramblas with a stop at the famous La Boqueria Market to taste local deliciousness. And when the night falls, Barcelona becomes a playground for partygoers! It is also famous for its Christmas tradition of creating \u2018szopki\u2019. Also known as \u2018Christmas cribs\u2019, szopki are extravagant nativity scenes modeled after the town\u2019s monuments and buildings. Each year, locals compete to create the most peculiar szopki. The best ones are displayed in the Celestat Muzeum, which you can visit in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While in Krakow, don\u2019t miss the Wawel Royal Castle overlooking the Vistula River. A legend tells that there is a dragon living underneath the castle. You can!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Berlin definitely is a \u2018something for everyone\u2019 sort of place, making it a top-notch destination for every January group trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turku, Finland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Turku.jpg\" alt=\"Turku\" class=\"wp-image-73709\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You might not have ever heard of the town of Turku in Finland. Visitors usually choose more famous spots, like Helsinki, when traveling to Finland. But Turku will be a pleasant surprise, trust me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is the oldest city in this country. Founded in the 13th century, Turku has a fascinating historical and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t miss Turku Castle, located at the mouth of the Aura River. Inside, you can find a museum displaying the castle\u2019s history from 1280 to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are into museums, you will have a blast in this Finnish town! Among the most interesting is the \u2018Aboa Vetus Ars Nova\u2019, the Museum of Archaeology and Contemporary Art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stavanger, Norway<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Stavanger.jpg\" alt=\"Stavanger\" class=\"wp-image-73710\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Norway\u2019s southwest coast is one of the top towns to visit in Norway in January,\u00a0Stavanger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Charming like no other, the town center features cobbled lanes lined by white wooden houses. In contrast, the shopping street of Ovre Holmegate has fun and colorful houses. The mix and match is fascinating!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While strolling around the Old Town, visit the stunning Cathedral from the 12th century, Norway\u2019s oldest church. Something else to look for is the many beautiful murals that adorn the town\u2019s buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When January\u2019s cold makes it hard to stay outside, hide inside the interesting Petroleum Museum to learn more about Norway\u2019s oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Warsaw, Poland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Warsaw.jpg\" alt=\"Warsaw\" class=\"wp-image-73711\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Warsaw, Poland\u2019s capital city, has such a rich history that it needs to be on your bucket list!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of my favorite months to visit\u00a0Warsaw\u00a0is January, when its UNESCO-listed Old Town is sprinkled with snowflakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This beautiful town has been one of the major theaters of WW2 and has been extensively reconstructed. However, several iconic landmarks survived both World Wars, including the Royal Palace and the St. Anne\u2019s Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides its historical and cultural heritage, Warsaw is a lively and fun city to explore. There are many great bars and clubs where you can mingle with the locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reykjavik, Iceland<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Reykjavik-1.jpg\" alt=\"Reykjavik\" class=\"wp-image-73712\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reykjavik is one of the ultimate winter destinations in Europe to visit in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With impressive natural landscapes covered in white snow just outside the city,\u00a0Reykjavik\u00a0is a fantastic trip idea for everyone who loves outdoor adventures. Dog sliding, bathing in hot springs, whale watching, and skiing are just some of the things you can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Winter is also the best time to spot the Northern Lights in Iceland, as the nights are darker and longer. You don\u2019t need to go far from Reykjavik to see them. Just head to the city\u2019s northwestern edge, on the Seltjarnarnes Peninsula, and get ready to be mesmerized!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Malm\u00f6, Sweden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Malmo.jpg\" alt=\"Malm\u00f6\" class=\"wp-image-73713\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your idea of a January vacation is a cosmopolitan city with cold and snowy weather, you must visit\u00a0Malm\u00f6. In southern Sweden, Malm\u00f6 is a melting pot of cultures with a vibrant arts scene and a welcoming vibe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explore the city center on foot, enjoying the street food at M\u00f6llev\u00e5ngstorget Market and the innovative Western Harbor district. Visit the iconic Turning Torso skyscraper and the Malm\u00f6 Konsthall, one of Europe\u2019s largest exhibition halls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Malm\u00f6, there is a local ritual that you will need to be in contact with, the fika. This is more than a simple \u2018coffee and cake break\u2019. It is a true social phenomenon that will turn you into a local in no time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Andorra la Vella, Andorra<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.touropia.com\/gfx\/b\/2024\/11\/Andorra_la_Vella.jpg\" alt=\"Andorra la Vella\" class=\"wp-image-73714\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re seeking fabulous winter conditions to enjoy fun in the snow, Andorra de Vella is the place to go! The tiny country of Andorra tends to be pretty busy in the winter months, so don\u2019t expect low prices and much tranquillity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andorra is the place to be for winter activities. Just outside town, you will find awesome ski resorts and smooth ski slopes.
